Hi! My name is Michele and I have been a doll collector and repainter since 2001. It all started while perusing a popular auction site and I found doll creations with the title "OOAK" in the descriptions. After recently rediscovering some childhood dolls, I was intrigued by the notion that people were creating their very own, one-of-a-kind creations with paint and different types of materials. There were fairies, mermaids, period dolls...you name it! So...armed with a few inexpensive paints and some materials including ribbons, sequins, and a glue gun...the madness began! Shortly after making a few ooaks, my mom joined me in my venture for awhile. The glue gun was put away (LOL) and I taught myself how to operate a sewing machine while mom made fabulous faces with her excellent painting skills. We both enjoyed our joint creations for awhile until mom became busy with other things and I refined my own skills at painting faces:)
Presently, I am focusing on repainting and enhancing dolls. My favorite dolls to work on are Integrity's FR dolls, as well as the Tonner and Barbie lines. There has been a bit of dabbling in BJD's but my heart seems to lie with the fashion dolls. My time is somewhat limited in having painting time (due to a busy little toddler around the house!) but I manage to find time when I can. Painting is not a "job" for me, but rather an outlet for creativity and I am just lucky enough to have found some folks that like my work well enough to add it to their collections. I have met SO many wonderful people thoughout the entire world being in this hobby:) In addition to repainting dolls I also love to repaint doll furniture and accessories to have a more realistic look and amateur photography.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
Happy Collecting!
